We created and installed a large, heavy sculptural timber element that hangs from the ceiling above the third-floor bar in the K1 Base Lodge at the Killington Ski Resort in Vermont. We worked to translate the architect's concept into a functional plan, including the details of hanging everything safely from the steel superstructure above. The frame is made of locally-sourced kiln-dried white ash, and we used a French plumb-line scribe layout system to ensure tight fits between all of the irregular material.
